Most of us can derive benefit from Psychological Support at some point in their lives. The stresses of our modern lives can become overwhelming, and the responsibilities related to relationships, family, work and other commitments can wear us down. The result of these stressors can impact on our emotional wellbeing, behaviour and relationships.
As we struggle to manage the competing demands and difficulties, we can sometimes overlook our own needs. Eventually, we end up lacking energy, motivation and interest in the things that used to offer us pleasure and fulfilment.
A Psychological Consultation provides you with an opportunity to focus on how you got stuck and how to begin to move forward again. It can also help you to gain awareness of how you may be repeating unhelpful patterns in your life and relationships, as well as offering an opportunity to consider alternative, more helpful ways to manage.
A Psychological Consultation simply involves ascertaining the aspects of life that have become difficult and working out together, what might be a useful way to understand and manage those difficulties.
Your initial interview is where we will discuss your concerns and together create a plan to work on them. Your subsequent appointments are guided by this plan and we constantly check to see how your plan is working for you. When the plan is working, we stick with it, if there are any areas where it doesn’t seem to be working, we will discuss other options and test how they might help.
Medicare and/or Private Health Fund rebates are available for Psychological Services
